Oregon Wine – Patricia Green Cellars Harvest
Patty Green Cellars was processing some of their younger vine Pinot noir Friday. Patty was zipping up and down the hill, from vineyard to winery on her green machine. Jim was cleaning out fermentation vats and barrels are lined up, ready to go. Note the extremely cool crate on the back of Patty’s Grizzly.

They were sorting grapes at Patty’s – Ken Pahlow was helping- he’s a wine rep with exceptional knowledge of small Indie wineries in France. He has his own label now – Walter Scott. Sadly, he did not make any wine in 2008, but he’s making some in 2009. The 2007 is gone, and it was lovely - I’m going to be first in line when the ’09 comes out.

In the midst of the craziness of harvest, Patty released her “Dollar Bills Only” 2008 Pinot noir $16.74/$15.07 by the case). The 2008 vintage is living up to the high expectations of Oregon’s winemakers. The Dollar Bills Pinot is ready to drink, and good enough to be worth cellaring. We wrote about it here.
