Hello from Marcus at Avalon Wine-
I've been wanting
to tell you about this wine since April, and
now I finally can. Like everyone else, I love Beaux
Freres Pinot noirs .
What you might not know is that Mike
Etzel also made a small amount of Pinot noir
in 2005 under the Ana Vineyard label.
It's the same vineyard that goes into the Beaux
Freres Belles Soeurs Pinot noir. The
2004 Ana is delicious.
I first tasted the 2004
Ana Vineyard Dundee Hills Pinot Noir back
in April— I've
been excited about it ever since! It could
have been the beguiling nose of black cherries,
dark flowers, and forest. Or it could
have been the long, creamy finish. Or somewhere
in between…but I loved it.
Wines that come
from Ana Vineyard tend to have beautiful floral
aromatics. Shortly after opening, violets
waft from the glass. Then
it’s bright red cherries, black cherries,
even Bing cherries exploding in your mouth. There’s
a nice balance of fruit and place in the ’04
Ana—it is distinctly from the Dundee Hills.
Andy Humphrey owns
and manages the 29 year old Ana Vineyard, and
also manages the Goldschmidt/Dundee Hills Vineyard
from which Dusky
Goose is
made. Patricia Green Cellars and Penner
Ash are
two other fine wineries who purchase grapes from
from the Ana Vineyard.
Read
about the Ana Pinot noir 2004 $35.05/$38.95 and
order wine.
Buy a six
pack of the Ana Pinot noir 04 and
get a 10% discount: $210.33, regularly $233.70

Speaking of Beaux
Freres…LAST
CALL on the 2004 vintage!!!
The 2004 Beaux Freres
and Belle Soeurs Pinot noirs are exceptional
wines worth collecting. To
add even more caché to the vintage,
here are the Wine Spectator scores:
95 points from Wine Spectator--2004
Beaux Freres Vineyard Pinot Noir
91 points from Wine Spectator--2004
Belle Soeurs Pinot Noir
There’s a
tiny bit of wine left and we’re
offering it in
Beaux Freres six pack cases consisting
of:
2 Beaux Freres Vineyard Pinot Noir 2004 and
4 Belle Soeur Pinot Noir 2004
Each six
pack case is $330. Supply is
limited.
My recommendation is to get six
bottles of 2004 Ana Pinot Noir (or more!)
and
a Beaux Freres/Belle Soeurs six pack.
======================
I'll be at my desk
today so please feel free to call if I can
help with information about these or other
wines. I'm here from 9AM to 6PM West coast
time.
Salud!
Marcus
