Harmonia Pinot noir 05
$19.25/$21.75
http://www.northwest-wine.com/Quercus-Harmonia-Pinot-noir-2005.html
Hands down, one of the best
values in Oregon wine.
Strikingly
expressive aromas of berry fruit, roses and
sandalwood. The 2005 Harmonia has a juicy,
lush mouthfeel with red berry and pie cherry
that gives way to hints of milk chocolate and
creamy berry. The finish is spicy and remarkably
long for a wine of this price. -ml
"Great acidityalmost closer to a Burgundy with delicate flavors from the fruit that came in after the rains. -Michael

Quercus Wines
Cadmus Pinot noir Reserve 04
$26.95/$29.95
http://www.northwest-wine.com/Quercus-Cadmus-Pinot-noir.html
Michael Beckley's reserve Pinot
noir, the 2004 Cadmus Pinot noir
shows blackberry and cherry fruit in the scent
and flavor and those dominant fruit flavors
are accompanied by hints of fresh earth, red
cherries, and red raspberries.
The higher altitude of the
Momtazi Vineyard fruit used in this wine lent
a more structured, red cherry and blackberry
theme to this wine, complemented by the more
black cherry driven flavors of the Bayliss
Vineyard fruit. The medium to heavy toast on
the 25% new oak barrels assisted the natural
grape tannins in creating a toasty, structured
wine.

Quercus Wines
Theia Chardonnay 04/05 $19.75/$21.75
http://www.northwest-wine.com/Quercus-Theia-Chardonnay-2005.html
The new Theia
Chardonnays are remarkably crafted, great
value wines.
In making his
Chardonnays, Beckley uses 100% Temperance
Hill Vineyard Dijon Clone 76 fruit, which he
chose specifically to make the kind of Chardonnay
that appeals to him: bright, fruit-focused,
with just a hint of spice.-ml

Quercus
Hyperion Syrah 04
$18.86/$20.95
http://www.northwest-wine.com/Harmonia-Hyperion-Syrah.html
We're at the end
of this vintage, but it's worth trying to grab
some of this big, juicy Syrah that benefits
from the extra year of aging.
Another winner
from garagiste Michael Beckley- juicy, lush
flavors, classic black cherry, roasted meat,
toasted coffee bean, and black currant flavors
with a nice streak of acidity to keep the wine
fresh tasting, with a pleasant finish. Good
value.

Rock Creek Pinot
noir 05 $23.36/$25.95
http://www.northwest-wine.com/Rock-Creek-Cellars-Pinot-noir-05.html
Rock Creek is a second label for Michael Beckley, known for his Quercus Wines.
Rock Creek 2005 Pinot
noir is an ageable wine whose
balance, complexity, and rich flavors offer all the
hallmarks of a cellar selection. Combined with a really
reasonable price, we predict that the Rock Creek will
greatly reward the patient Pinot collector.
Tasted upon
release in September 2006, the wine is tight, with
a silky texture, lively acidity, and fine grained
but aggresive tannins. Flavors include black raspberry,
blackberry, and other black fruits, and big white
pepper and dried wild thyme notes in the long finish.
Extremely limited, Michael made this one for the
serious Pinot collector.
