Winelovers new to Oregon pinots often ask us for a sampler case of what we think are the best wines. More times than I can count, customers call back after trying the wines to order "the Dusky". It's a robust, full bodied Pinot noir, and has made Pinot converts out of many a Big Red drinker.

And it is nearly gone. We don’t normally do “last calls” but we thought you’d like one more chance to grab a few bottles of the 2004 Dusky Goose before it flies away.

Full-bodied, yet sumptuously complex, the 2004 Dusky Goose Pinot noir wine has its characteristic candied fruit and dried cherry notes, along with glorious layers of lush black cherries and berries, hints of dried lavender, and dried orange zest. There's a unique quality to Dusky Goose Pinot noir, a high note in both nose and flavor of sweet and concentrated dried fruit. The balance is so good, the wine should cellar well for more than ten years.

The single-vineyard Dusky Goose Pinot noir is expertly crafted by Lynn Penner Ash from Dundee Hills Vineyard fruit. The flavors and complexity of the superb 2004 vintage continue to develop—at a recent tasting, the Dusky was showing elegantly, with even more integration than in previous tastings. The wine has that distinct "Dusky taste", with silky black and dried cherry flavors weaving circles in your mouth. Must stop writing…and go get more Dusky Goose!
