Most orders ship within a week but because we work with tons of small producers, there can be delays. We will contact you by email or phone if your order will not ship within 8 business days. If you have a deadline by which you need the wine delivered, please let us know and we will make every effort to meet it. Ground shipping is the most cost-effective method of shipping wine. However, wine can be damaged in transit by extreme temperatures, hot or cold, particularly when Ground shipping is used. We have very favorable shipping rates for 3-Day and 2-Day Air shipping - consider upgrading to Air shipping in weather extremes. We are cautious about shipping wine and check temperatures along all shipping routes daily. We will contact you regarding weather delays - you may request that we hold your shipment for optimal weather, or you can choose to upgrade to Air shipping. If you choose Ground shipping and authorize us to ship in questionable weather, we cannot replace your wine nor refund your money if it is damaged by heat or cold. Wine shipping laws require that a person 21 years or older sign for the wine shipment. Wine cannot be left at your front door. Please consider shipping wine to your work address where an adult is more likely available to sign. We ship mostly by FedEx. Let us know if you have a shipping carrier preference. Wine cannot be sent to PO Boxes.
When we ship your order a shipment confirmation message is sent to your email address. Your tracking number and links to track your package are included. If tracking info does not come to you, give us a call and we'll track your package for you. Free Cellaring in Bad Weather Avalon will cellar your wine purchases for up to 10 weeks from date of purchase if the weather is too hot or too cold, or longer if extreme conditions or locations demand it.
