In Oregon, where new wineries have popped up faster than toast, it's fun to seek out a new favorite wine. But, year after year, with shocking consistency we are loyal and devoted fans of Bethel Heights Pinot gris. WeI am drawn in by the perfectly pitched balance between acidity and fruit and then wowed over by the lingering but clean finish.

The 2007 release is no exception. Full of citrus, predominately lime zest, there is also a note of lemon curd reflected in the lush texture. Sslight mineral notes are present in the aromas as well as providing an interesting backdrop to the citrus and tropical profile.

Though enjoyable year round, the Bethel Heights Pinot gris 07 is most often poured in the summer. Enjoy it when you need a versatile white for dinner parties, lunches on the beach, or backyard impromptu picnics.

The Bethel Heights 2006 Pinot gris was chosen as "Best of Tasting" by the Wall Street Journal on May 30, 2008. Dorothy Gaiter and John Brecher said: "Fresh and vibrant, with great melon fruit, but with a sturdy backbone. Fresh tropical fruits at the top, minerals and serious earthiness at the core -- bravo."
