HOW TO STANDOUT FROM THE CROWD
Big Reds that Over-Deliver
New wineries need to stand out to be noticed. To make it, they must over-deliver with memorable wines and better prices than the competition. We've found the standouts for you, searching northwest garages, industrial parks, and bat caves for the Indies you want to know now.

O'Shea Scarborough
"The Rebel" Cabernet Sauvignon 07
$19.95/$17.95
Want a killer Cab from an outstanding vintage for less than $20? Look no further than The Rebel 07 Cab from O'Shea Scarborough. Travis and Darryn have quickly become Avalon favorites (we're featuring their mind-blowingly good "Stand Alone" Cab 06 in our May Big Reds Club).
The Rebel Cab rumbles with juicy black cherry, currant, and black berry, adding a yin and yang of candy notes and bitter chocolate on the finish. From the up-and-coming Wahluke Slope area.

Three Fools Del Rio Red 07
$21.95/$19.75
Three Fools Del Rio Red 07 is a Corvallis sensation. Spicy blackberry, cassis, and ripe blackberry flavors are easy to dive into. Sweet sage and nutmeg combine with graphite on the pleasantly chewy finish, making for a foolishly good red.
59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Cabernet Franc, and 19% Merlot from Del Rio Vineyard in Southern Oregon. Aged in 90% French, 10% American oak, with no new wood used. 260 cases released.

Gifford Hirlinger Stateline Red 05
$19.95/$17.95
Gifford Hirlinger Stateline Red 05 is a rare phenomenon: Walla Walla blended
red for under $20.
Loaded with sweet cherry, plum, and black berry with a touch of
meatiness, the Stateline Red is one of Washington's best values.
80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Remy Three Wives Red 06
$17.95/$16.16
Remy Three Wives Red 06 is a seamless blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Syrah. The character of the Sangiovese - dusty, red cherry and plum -
is rounded and beefed up by the splash of Syrah. A great table wine
from a producer to watch.
27 year-old Remy Drabkin makes Italian inspired wines in the Pinot-centric Oregon Willamette Valley. Sangiovese, Cannonau, Barbera, and Lagrien are some of the varietals she uses in making her polished wines.
Domaine Pouillon Black Dot 07
$18.45/$16.61
Domaine Pouillon Black Dot 2007 is filled with aromas of ripe strawberries and cane fruit - accented on the palette by flavors of black pepper, strawberries and pomegranate. - the winery
40% Syrah, 38% Grenache, 7% Mourvedre, 7% Primitivo, 4% Counoise, 2% Cinsault, 2% Barbera. The winemaker trained at Chateau de Beaucastel, Chateauneuf du Pape, one of the world's greatest wineries.

Owen Roe's
Cordivae Cabernet Franc 07
$16.95/$15.25
NEW WINE LABEL
Corvidae Wine Company's "Keeper" Cabernet Franc 07 is one of the first releases of this new label, made by Owen Roe. This Cabernet Franc is plush and velvety, full-bodied and easy drinking. The scent and flavors knock you out - spice joins black tea, fresh tobacco, thyme, sweet cedar chips, black berries and cassis. When Cabernet Franc is made from well ripened fruit, (as this wine is) it combines plush fruit and interesting accent notes
with body that stands well with rich roasted and grilled meats.
This is a great price for a rich and full-bodied Cabernet Franc - as is usual with Owen Roe.
