Sometimes we agree with the critics, sometimes we don't. We recommend these two Pinots, and they happen to have great ratings as well.
Patton Valley Pinot noir 06 $34.95/$31.46
92 points from Wine Spectator:
"Supple, seductive and generous with its red plum, red cherry and rhubarb pie flavors, shaded with subtle hints of white pepper, white rose and coriander seed as the finish rolls on unabated. This is delicious, and should improve in the cellar as the tannins subside more. Drink now through 2016." H.S.
Patton Valley's 2006 Pinot noir is a fleshy, structured 2006 Pinot loaded with black berry and dark currant fruit, accented with heady aromas of cherry cream. Plums build as the finish powers on, picking up sandalwood, barrel spice, thyme and vanilla bean. This should integrate nicely over the next several months and will please fans of muscular Pinot noir.

Youngberg Hill
Natasha's Block Pinot noir 04 $27.95/25.16
91 points from Wine Spectator:
"Crisp in texture, with black pepper prominent in the aroma and flavor range, finishing with attractive blueberry and plum notes against fine-grained tannins. Drink now through 2012." H.S.
Youngberg Hill Natasha's Block Pinot noir offers a superb opportunity to purchase one of the last 2004 Oregon Pinots around. We loved the 2004 vintage, and so did wine critics.
The Natasha's Block is drinking beautifully, and has clearly evolved from the time it was released. It's a very balanced wine, offering a nice combination of attractive mixed berries, plums, cinnamon, and juniper. Like so many of the 04s, Natasha's is ready to drink now, but will age gracefully for another five years. Grilled salmon or chicken would be a perfect pair for dinner.
Youngberg Hill is a bed & breakfast whose original owners planted a 12 acre vineyard. They sell it to visitors of the B&B, but otherwise, it's virtually unknown. Thus the availability of a 91 point 2004 Oregon Pinot noir under $30.

Illahe Pinot noir 07 $19.75/$17.77
Highly recommended by Avalon Wine
Fresh raspberries, subtle cedar-tinged spice box, and caramel meld with juicy cherries to create a complex yet easy-to-enjoy Pinot.
Amity Vineyards Cuvee Pinot noir 07 $19.95/$17.95
Amity Vineyards Cuvee Pinot Noir 07 is an outstanding value. Fragrant aromas of bright red fruit and fir forest lead into a delectably juicy array of fresh raspberry, cherry candy, and sun-ripened strawberry on your palate. Hints of savory thyme accent the persistent red fruit on the finish. This is a great food wine, and shows best with decanting.
