These are big, rich wines from Southern Oregon. Quartet, their blended Red Meritage style wine, is "a cross between a Bordeaux and a Washington State Meritage", according to Paschal's rep Jeff Philpott. Their Pinot Gris is positively huge, if such a word can be applied to the usually fairly light Pinot Gris varietal. The Pinot Blanc is one of the best ever produced in Oregon, and combines that Southern Oregon heat with the delicacy of an Alsatian wine.
From
the winemakers:
"Our commitment to the art of wine begins with the care of our estate vineyard and extends to the relationships we cultivate with growers farming some of the finest hillside vineyards in the warm, dry climate of the Rogue Valley. Gentle winemaking and personal attention to a very limited production allow us to offer wines of unique character, finesse, and longevity. We welcome your visit to our tasting room, just minutes from Ashland in Southern Oregon's Rogue Valley Appellation. -Roy, Jill, Jason, and Sylvia Paschal
