"Iron Men need IronBird Cabernet!"
Owen Roe
IronBird Cabernet Sauvignon 06
$28.95/$26.05
Summer calls for big steaks. Big steaks on a big grill with big flavors and big black sizzle on the outside, rare on the inside - and slab-size portions. Steaks to feed the Iron Man.
Summer grilling at its most primal - a guy, a grill, a conflagration of fire - this does not call for a delicate, intellectual wine. Not for this guy the esoteric Pinot, the much analyzed and aged Bordeaux, the discussed and contemplated Riesling. No - this is time for big, meaty, dense, chewy and not particularly pretty Cabernet Sauvignon.
Enter Owen Roe's Ironbird Cabernet Sauvignon 06. It swaggers to the stage and pumps its iron, full of big Cab black fruit and toast.
Very limited, only 160 cases made, we have a tiny amt of this Cab, usually sold only at the winery. Made from Southern Oregon fruit, the Ironbird Vineyard produces "everything he could want", according to winemaker David O'Reilly.
Enjoy!
Jean
