Oregon is home to over 150 wineries, most
located in gorgeous rural settings and near several world-class
golf courses. Hiking, mountain biking, skiing, ballooning, and
car touring are some of the related activities enjoyed by Oregon
visitors.
Oregon wineries are exceptionally friendly
and accomodating,
and at many, you're likely to get to meet the
winemaker or owner. Operating on a small scale, many of Oregon's
best wineries are only open by appointment, and a few are closed
except for Thanksgiving Weekend and Memorial Day Weekend. Make sure
and check with they winery before visiting. For help with an
Oregon Wine Tour, we recommend Adventures in Wine, and Oregon
company specializing in hosted or self-guided wine tours. It's
important to have a designated driver, and Kathy will arrange
transportation, food, and an itinerary that starts and returns
to your hotel room or home.
Restaurants specializing in Oregon food and wine are located
throughout the state. Some of the most interesting are listed
here.
