Harvey Steiman has an article on Wine Spectator's website today (6/18/02) about Oregon wines, and in it he says:: "As
far as the best Pinots go, you can look forward to high quality -- but
you may need Well, if you'd rather buy Oregon Pinots from the comfort of home than out on the Oregon Trail in a covered wagon, check out our selection! We are so fortunate to be right in the middle of Oregon's Willamette Valley, within a hour's drive of most of the wineries in the state, and we routinely pick up wine for customers from even the smallest wineries. Of the top rated Oregon Pinot Noirs cited in the article, some were released a year ago, and are sold out. We still have good supply of some of them, and here's what's available: Beaux
Freres Pinot Noir Willamette Valley Domaine
Serene Pinot Noir Willamette Valley Rex
Hill Pinot Noir Oregon Argyle

Hills Chardonnay Oregon Andrew
Rich Gewurztraminer (Dessert Wine) Argyle

Wedding Gift! The charming pottery in this basket was made by the Monks of Prinknash Abbey. Prinknash is traditionally pronounced Prinage - yes really, so woebetide anyone who gets it wrong. The Benedictine monks at Prinknash Abbey have hand crafted their pottery since the early 1900s. The Abbey is over 1000 years old, its original building dating from the time of William the Conqueror. The Abbey was visited by Henry the Eighth and his second wife, Anne Boleyn in the 16th century, where they enjoyed hunting, feasting, and thinking about how good the Abbey's decor would look in their house, since shortly thereafter Henry abolished the monastery and took the contents of many monasteries for himself or his favored courtiers.
