Camaraderie
Cellars "Grace" 97 was $35
Sale
$17.99 or
$15 a bottle by the case

A blend
of Cabernet Sauvignon 67%, Cab Franc 11%, and Merlot 22% --
A nice, rich wine whose 98 vintage was panned by Wine Spectator
(wrongly in my opinion) resulting in a lack of interest that
is unwarranted.
Nose has
a lot of cassis and black fruit, then flavors of rich black
fruit, well balanced, and ready to drink.
I hate to
benefit from Camaraderie Cellar's bad luck, but here you are,
a totally low price for a nice big red. -jy

2000 Pinot noirs

Mark
has this to say about his Shea Vineyard 2000 Pinot Noir: "When
Ken (St. Innocent's sales manager) said that the 2000 Shea was a stylistic
blend of the fruit of 1998 and the richness of 1999, I thought he was
exaggerating. Well he wasn't. It is full of red and black fruit, dark
flowers, and has lovely weight and length. It has the darkest components
of all the wines produced from Shea Vineyard and has the structure to
age. It reminds me a bit of the wines of Morey St.-Denis - lovely layered
fruit and good concentration. It is a steal for its price. Match it
with any red meat, grilled game birds, or grilled salmon. It will need
3-6 months to flesh out and I expect it to develop over 8 years. ."
St
Innocent Temperance Hill Pinot Noir 2000

Almost sold out, this wine has a riper flavor
profile than previous vintages- rich, ripe cherry frtuit, aromatics
include cedar and cola, sweet floral aromas of lilac and wisteria. A
big pinot noir, good with summer barbeque. A little young, cellar till
the end of the summer for additional weight, 2-4 years for full maturity.

Innocent Brut 98 Sparkling Wine

Selling out super fast, this is a luxurious wine. The wine has aromas
of ripe apples, toasted nuts, and a hint of pear. Flavors of toast,
apple tart crust, and roasted hazelnuts add depth to the lovely ripe
apple and delicate berry fruit components. Creamy with very fine mousse.
Very clean in the finish. The best since 1990. Very refreshing treat
on a hot summer day. The one I want to grab for sipping at picnics.
Reasonably priced for what you get... heavy bottles so the shipping
charge is a little more.-jy

L'Ecole
#41 "Walla Walla Voila"
$13.99
This wine is from one
of the oldest and best wineries in Walla Walla. It is usually only sold
out of the winery. This is our new favorite summer white wine- it's
like a Vouvray, light, crisp, but with wonderful layers of flavor- hints
of sweet apricot, mandarin orange, and apple with a hint of pink grapefruit
on the finish.
A truly delightful summer sipper.

cassis notes, spice, and a warm, pleasing finish. Drink now and revel

Just
a few bottles left!
Wine Spectator says: "Bright, supple and open-textured,
offering disarmingly pure currant and blackberry flavors that linger
elegantly on the extra-long finish. Not a blockbuster; it's just yummy
and refined. Tannins aren't intrusive, making this tempting to drink
already. Drink now through 2009. 3,100 cases made.
We say- we can't believe we still have
some of this- it is such a wonderfully priced wine for cellaring. This
will be the gem you pull out in 5 or 6 years and show your friends what
Oregon Pinot noir is all about! But it is drinking incredibly well now
if you want to indulge.

"A wine of gorgeous definition"
Our favorite of winemaker Chris Camarda's wines, The
99 Sorella is 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 15% Cab Franc.
The wine carries a mark of fullness and a complex palate arising from
the blending of the different varieties. Drink 2005-2012.

nervy, yet relatively big. Very French in style, will benefit from cellaring

Wine Spectator 91 points!
A blend
of Cabernet and Merlot, this wine has dark brooding fruit flavors and
beautiful aromas of coffee, spice with a whiff of violet. The wine shows
solid prune and black currant flavors at the core, shaded by hints of
chocolate and toast. The density of fruit, extract, and structure enables
this wine to be the best enjoyed after a few years in the cellar. Cellar
till 2006-2015.
