Tis the Season
Wine Gifts for Northwest Wine Lovers
Unbelievable as it may seem, the holidays are upon us yet again. Did
I hear you say something? ?What can I give to my friends and family
members who love wine??
I?m so glad that you asked!
Of course, there is, of course, the obvious. You could get them a
bottle or two of their favorite wines. You have come to the right place
for that, Avalon Wine has a fabulous selection of northwest wines that
are sure to please. But what if you want to think outside the box?
Here on the Avalon site, you will find many gift ideas to compliment
the wines. How about a wonderful gift basket filled with northwest
products such as salmon, chowders, local jams and jellies, Blue Heron
or Bandon cheeses, the Brigittine Monks have wonderful fudge and other
chocolate delights that are sure to please!
I also love great wine books. One of my favorites
in the Windows on the World Wine Course by Kevin Zraly. Mr. Zraly
served as the wine
educator for many years at Windows on the World at the World Trade
Center in New York. The book is excellent! It educates without being
pretentious.
Another book I adore is a cookbook. Sharing
the Vineyard Table, by Carolyn Wente and Kimball Jones.
Ms. Wente is owner of Wente Vineyards
in the Livermore Valley. Kimball Jones is the Executive Chef at the
winery. This book is filled with great recopies and wine pairings and
is divided by season. One of my personal favorites in the book is Chocolate
Hazelnut Souffle' Cake.
Another great gift is the Avalon Wine
Club. You have several options:
Northwest Big Reds
Oregon Reserve Pinot Noir
Northwest New Discoveries
Northwest Sweet and Dessert Wines
Sign up today! This is a gift that
keeps giving all year!
The Vinum Burgundy Glass, part of the set of four glases you'll
take home from the tasting.
