Pinot noir
for Beaver Believers
Avalon's First Wine!
Corvallis Oregon is Beaver Land.
The Oregon State Beavers rule the town of Corvallis, where Avalon Wine is located. Avalon collaborated with irrepresible Indie winemaker Chris Heider to create Cuvee Corvallis, Avalon's first ever wine.
Chris, whose winery, 720 Cellars, is just down the road, makes value priced, quaffable wines. Put us together and you get ready to drink wine, perfect for watching your home team on the tube.
Cuvee Corvallis Pinot noir 05
$23.95/$21.55
Avalon Exclusive:
Beaver Believer wine
made by 720 Cellars
Cuvee Corvallis Pinot noir features aromas of dark berries and truffled spices. Bright black berry, blueberry, and candied cherry flavors are complemented by a dried thyme note that wraps around the sweet fruit finish. The supple texture and pure fruit makes it tasty now; the juicy acidity will allow it to age for 4-6 years. 48 cases produced.
Cuvee Corvallis Pinot noir is made for Avalon Wine by Chris Heider's 720 Cellars. The blend was assembled by Avalon and Heider. It is named for Corvallis, Oregon, the city where Avalon Wine has been located for 20 years. Corvallis is the home of Oregon State University, thus the sidebar "Wine for Beavers Fans". The label features an image of the Corvallis courthouse.
Sourced exclusively from Croft Vineyards, on the skirts of the Eola Hills in the Willamette Valley. The Cuvee Corvallis was blended from one barrel of Dijon clone 115 and one barrel of Wadenswil clone. These vines, and all vines at Croft for that matter, have been farmed following organic practices since inception.

720 Cellars Willamette Valley Pinot noir 05
$24.95/$22.45
Deliciously juicy black berry and black cherry are dressed with dusky cinnamon spice. Blue berry and anise flourishes appear near the finish, then more black cherry lingers on. The 720 Pinot has the balance we look for in value Pinot: super-easy to get into now, great with food, ageable for years.

720 Cellars OR'Deaux Claret 04
$22.95/$20.66
A favorite pick for winter wine. Inviting black fruits, tobacco, baking spices, and green peppercorns prepare you for a mouthful of black cherry, plum, and cassis.
A Bordeaux-style blend from southern Oregon grapes (hence the name OR'Deaux), this bargain red rocks!

720 Cellar Croft Vineyards Pinot gris 06
$18.00/$16.20
100% organically grown grapes from Croft Vineyard. Bright acidity, lovely nose of honeyed fruit and minerals. Flavors of sweet honeysuckle, crisp citrus, creamy pear, hints of tangerine, and a clean, refreshing, finish. The 720 Pinot gris is a fine example of the dry, crisp style of Oregon gris. This wine is really luscious with poached halibut, and goes well with any white fish, salmon, salad Nichoise, or grilled chicken.
