Beaux Freres
|
1998
Vintage
Small amount still available 1/02 A perfect growing season and harvest, at least from a qualitative standpoint. The downside was the extraordinarily small crop that produced super-concentrated, tiny berries. The result is a dense purple-colored wine with full body, and gorgeous black cherry aromas as well as flavors intermixed with spice, vanilla, and earth. The wine is powerful and
dense, with moderately high tannin and monstrous extract. Along with
the 1994, this is the most concentrated and backward Beaux Frères
Pinot noir. Yields were well under one ton of fruit per acre (about
15 hectoliters per hectare). Anticipated maturity: 2004-2020. |
