Beaux Freres 2007
The Promise of Pinot noir
Do you remember the first great Pinot noir you tasted?
The sweetly perfumed exotic nose,
the magical combination of delicacy and power,
the silky richness that held so long in your memory?
A 2007 Beaux Freres Pinot noir in your cellar
is a promise of greatness.
It's a reward for patiently waiting for the complexity and depth to build until the moment you pull the cork. Our customers understand Beaux Freres Pinots, and often share stories of mind-blowing wines, cellared carefully.
2007 Beaux Freres Pinots are classically styled. Like the 2005 vintage, they are elegant and bright, packed with dense layers of fruit that show themselves with time. Like the 1992 and 1995 Beaux Freres Pinots we've tasted recently, the 2007 vintage will easily last a decade, continually evolving weight, subtlety, and greatness. Wait for it, and you'll experience the promise of Pinot noir.
Beaux Freres
Pinot noir Willamette Valley 07
$49.95/$44.95
The most approachable and ready to drink of the three Beaux Freres wines, the 2007 Willamette Valley is succulent and juicy. Sweet red raspberry and blackberry scents mingle with hints of dried flowers. There's a youthful lilt to the red cherry and berry flavors. Raspberry and sweet red cherry fruits are accentuated by pie spice, and a soft creaminess underlies all. The is delicious wine today, and will be even better in 1-2 years. Uplifting and refreshing.
The 2007 Willamette Valley is made from the following vineyards: Beaux Freres Vineyard and Beaux Freres Upper Terrace, Shea, Zena Crown, Amalie Robert and Carabella.
Beaux Freres
Estate Pinot noir 07
$79.95/$71.95
Beaux Freres' Flagship Wine
Dark ruby-colored, the 2007 Estate offers an intense, sweet scent of black raspberry and cherry, wild strawberry, herb, earth, and dried flowers. Tasting the wine, a silky cream texture introduces flavors of blackberry, black raspberry, and black cherry. Rich, plump fruit is accented by subtle notes of sweet earth, truffle, Asian spice, and dried field herbs.
The 2007 Estate is utterly charming - its medium body gains weight and depth with decanting. Good acidity and balance means it is well proportioned for cellaring. The winery suggests that the 2007 Estate will evolve for 10-12 years.
Beaux Freres
Pinot noir Upper Terrace 07
$89.95/$80.95
Darkest of the Beaux Freres Pinots, the Upper Terrace serves up an aromas of black cherry and raspberry, mingling with violet, dried rose and forest floor. Velvety and sensual in texture, deep flavors of creamy black cherry and spice box linger in a long, pure finish.
The most intense and richly nuanced of Beaux Freres' 2007 Pinots, Mike suggests waiting two years to drink - and the wine will continue to evolve for 15 years.
