01 $28.00 Jean's Kitchen Sink What's on the counter next to the sink this time? Argh- glucosamine for my poor pound dog, Milo, who has hip dyspaysia... he hates me since I took him to the vet, seems to believe that I am personally responsible for his pain. Anyone out there have any ideas how to bring back the old Milo? On a happier note, there's bottles and bottles of Woodward Canyon Dolcetto, my new love, on the counter, and a bottle of the great Bergstrom Cumberland Pinot noir 01. There's remnants of spring herbs that I chopped up to make a pizza- Try this- Boboli crust if you don't have time for the real thing, and chop up lots and lots of the new baby leaves of tarragon, chives, thyme, a little dill, sorrel, mint, sage, cilantro, Italian parsley... you get the idea, whatever is out there in the garden and nice and tender... I mixed them in with some of the good pre-made pesto that comes in the refrig case at Costco, and smeared it onto the Boboli as the sauce. Then I and added my secret ingredient topping - red onions, sliced super thin and seared in butter till they are just starting to brown. A little decent mozzarella over it all, and a few thinly sliced portobello mushrooms seared in the onion butter, into the oven for 20 minutes at 350, and woila- I sure like it- maybe you will also? Let me know. Also on the counter top- Fidelitas and Sineann Pinot gris Covey Ridge- very limited and I think only available from us on the web- Peter Rosback made less than 40 cases. It's delish. And also on the counter, about 40 new wines to taste! I'll let you know what rocks next week!

New and Exciting
Come and see us The summer weather here is wonderful, it's calm and rural and slow moving except in Portland and Seattle, the wine country is still farmland instead of Disneyland, you often get to taste wine with owners or winemakers, there's lots of outdoor activities, etc etc. In brief- this is a great summer to visit Oregon or Washington! Email us if you are interested in coming out and let us know where you want to go, and we'll try to help with a little personal assistance- wher the locals go, places that don't show up in the guidebooks, etc. |
