Jim Arterberry Maresh
Oregon's Best
Young Winemaker
At twenty five years old, Jim Maresh is demonstrating a level of winemaking maturity that is nearly unheard of. He exudes confidence about his wines, and his place among Oregon's producers.
When Jim brought us his first wine, the 2005 Arterberry Maresh Pinot noir, it stunned us. Was it just a fluke, perfect grapes from a lovely vintage? Six wines later, and we know Jim is no fluke.

Owen Roe's
New Under $20
Wine Label
Cordivae Wine Company
Owen Roe does it again. Like their other value labels - Sharecroppers, O'Reilly's, Northwest Vine Project, Murphy's Law, - Corvidae packs a punch.
"Corvidae" is named for the family of birds that includes crows and ravens. Crows have a long history in folklore and mythology. David was inspired to name the label Corvidae by the many crows that circle the sky over his winery in Yakima.
Each Corvidae wine is named with a particular fairy tale, fable, or legend in mind. "Rook" references the legendary luck associated with crows. "Lenore" is named for Edgar Allan Poe's poem "The Raven". "Fable" is inspired by the story of the fox and the crow and its moral- "Beware of Flatterers". "Mirth" refers to an old nursery rhyme about magpies. More wines in the series will be named for other references to crows in folklore.

Oregon's Chardonnay Revolution
No Butterball Turkeys Here!
Crowley, Evesham Wood, and Westrey look at Oregon Chardonnay as a serious wine, not just a white sipper. They age Chardonnay for 18 months in neutral oak barrels to add richness, texture and weight without muddling the wine into a cocktail of splinters and butterfat.
Each Chardonnay has its own character. All share a graceful style and balanced acidity, with added complexity from old-vine vineyards. They are full-bodied, but not too big, rounded but not overly rich. They evolve and blossom in the glass - one hallmark of great Chardonnay.
With the recent release of a $150 Oregon Chardonnay,
these $20 Oregon Chards are as good as it gets
at a fraction of the price.
